Cycling or mountainbiking
Whether in the Rhône Valley or high up in the mountains: Valais offers a great diversity of cycle routes to match everyone’s needs. Families can follow the Rhône river or cycle across the vineyards. Those in good physical shape will discover mountain passes and valleys nearby, in particular the mythic Route of the Tour de France (Finhaut-Emosson). Winter sports
The nearest ski resort, Les Marécottes is only 15 minutes away from Vernayaz. You can reach the free car parkings of Le Châble within 20 minutes, from where you hop in the cabin leading to Verbier . Other ski resorts are situated within a distance of 30-45 minutes: Pays du St-Bernard, Ovronnaz, Portes du Soleil, Villars-sur-Ollon and Leysin.
Besides downhill skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing, you may want to discover snowshoeing, winter hiking, ice skating… Equipment can be rented, we will provide you with useful addresses.
